Follow AlpineFoxes on a journey through Freud’s city, the famous Fin-de Ciècle Vienna!
Only about 5 of the 83 years of his life Freud did not spend in Vienna : at the age of 4 he moved to the capital of the Austro- Hungarian Empire with his parents, at the age of 82 he had to emigrate to London, to – as he himself put it – „die in freedom“. The city of Vienna, which in the second half of the 19th century rapidly transformed into a world metropolis , became the ideal background for Freud’s observations, studies and discoveries that ultimately made him the world-famous founder of psychoanalysis .
The AlpineFoxes have a particularly close relationship with Freud and know his life and work inside out. And so they would like to invite you on a walk that takes you through Professor Freud’s Vienna.
Where did he live? Where work? Who were his most famous contemporaries and patients? Was he a dog or a cat lover? You will get the answers to these and many other questions on this tour, which will be completed with a cup of coffee in the new Freud Museum Cafe!
